Emerald Coast Mosaic
Posted by Super Mom No Cape on January 14th, 2013
On Friday, I posted the mosaic of the fabric that I chose for the Emerald Mosaic Contest that is being sponsored by Fat Quarter Shop over at Stitched in Colour.
The area of Florida stretching from Pensacola down to Panama City is unofficially known as The Emerald Coast and I just couldn’t resist making a second mosaic to enter using some the colours that you’ll see here.
The middle fabric was chosen to add a bit of whimsy and because I would rather be sitting on the beach listening to the waves roll in than anywhere else in the world.
The various greens represent the palms and pines, magnolia and citrus trees we see as we drive from place to place. The blue is for the Gulf of Mexico.
That sandy colour is of course for all the beautiful beaches. When I told our middle daughter that we had chosen this area to spend the winter (we lived just down around the bend in Carrabelle from 2004 to 2006,) she told me to make sure to make the sand squeak for her when we went to the beach for the first time. If the sand is dry… you can actually make it squeak if you shuffle your feet as you walk along.

Beautiful fabrics and colors that truly represent the beach and ocean. Thanks for sharing!
