Super Mom – No Cape!

One mother sharing her knowledge with others

Stitch-A-Long – Vintage Chore Girls Week #1

Posted by Super Mom No Cape on February 18th, 2013

When we bought the Art Deco Sewing Machine Cabinet with Stool that Dave then refinished for me, there were some treasures in the drawers and underneath the cushion of the stool.  One of those treasures was several pages of vintage Workbasket embroidery patterns.  After doing some research, I’ve satisfied myself that these patterns are in the public domain and I am therefore free to do with them as I wish.

I’ve decided to share one each week over several weeks so others will be able to enjoy them as well.  And I thought to start things off I’d do an informal stitch-a-long of the very sweet vintage Chore Girls for the next seven weeks.

By informal I mean that there’s no need to sign up.   Follow along if you wish.   Share photos on your blog if you wish.  If you don’t have a blog, I’d be happy to post the photos here on my blog, if you’d like.  Or simply save the patterns for future use.

First up is the Chore Girl Doing Dishes pattern.

The pattern is available as a pdf to download here.

Have fun stitching!

I love old embroidery patterns — they were that old when I learned to do embroidery! :-) I will try to follow along.
