Since our youngest graduated from college in the spring of 2012, you might think that I would be overjoyed at not having to shop the Back-to-School sales anymore, but you’d only be partially correct.
I will admit that I don’t miss that huge expense every year at this time, but I still shop the sales. This time I’m shopping for me for supplies to use to organize and do my writing in.
This time of year they have all sorts of things a writer can use and get them at great prices.
For instance, those packages of loose leaf were 15 cents each. And the pencil crayons were $1. If you’re wondering what a writer uses pencil crayons for, I sometimes do a bit of sketching at the beginning of my writing sessions to get the creative juices flowing. I thought it might be fun to have coloured pencils to do that with.
Another advantage to back-to-school sales is that they have items that just aren’t available during the rest of the year. Now binders, folders and notebooks with cute owls on them aren’t essential to the writing process but they sure do make it more fun!
Have you been shopping the Back-to-School sales for yourself? If so, what kinds of things have you been buying?
