I know I haven’t been posting as much lately. It’s that time of year when I’m busy working on making Christmas gifts and of course, those can’t be revealed until after Christmas. I do have some recipes that I want to get posted and hope to get to those soon.
But I also have another reason why I haven’t been updating my blog as often as I usually do.
I’ve been working on finishing my novel. I’m writing between 4 to 6 hours per day and by the time I get finished each writing session, I’m pretty much tapped out creativity wise. Even my Christmas gift making list is taking longer than I thought it would because right now I’m giving so much energy to my book.
But I do finally have a finish that I can show you. This table runner has actually been almost done for a couple of weeks. It just needed to have the white buttons added to the top of Santa’s hat. I finally remembered to pick up the buttons last night when I had to make a quick trip to Fabricland to pick up a spool of thread and some zippers for another project I’m working on.
The quilting on the table runner is simple straight-line quilting 1/4″ away from the seams.
Here’s a close-up of the applique Santa with a white button pompom on his hat.
I’m so pleased with the way this turned out, especially since this is the first time I’ve done applique by hand. I’m looking forward to using this come Christmas time. I think it will be the perfect addition to our table on Christmas Eve!
