My Two Biggest Vices

Posted by Super Mom No Cape on November 1st, 2013

As many of you know, when we travel, I like to check out the local quilt shops.  So last weekend I stopped into Bee Modern Fabrics and Yarn  in Niagara-on-the-Lake to look for fabric for a Christmas gift.  Oh, I could have spent soooooo much money there.  They have a nice selection of Kaffe Fassett fabrics, Japanese prints, 30s reproduction prints and children’s prints, as well.

I hit it lucky and they were having a 20% off moving sale.  I might have spent a teeny bit more money than I had planned to because of that.

And then on the way back through St. Catherines we noticed a huge sign for a special promotion at the Book Depot.

Only some of the fabric I bought is picture above. There are a couple of yards missing as I didn’t include the fabric I bought for the Christmas gift.

I am a huge fan of young adult fiction so three of the book pictured fall into that genre.  The fourth is, of course, a mystery by one of my all time favourite authors; Agatha Christie.  I thought I’d read all of her books at one time or another but this one is new to me.

Books and fabric… not bad as vices go.

What are your vices of choice?

  1. You were definitely in the right place at the right time there!

Craft books and notions are my vices, I can never resist an interesting new one of either :)

My weakness is fabric, yarn, and yet another perennial or bulb for the garden. Oh, and estate sales! I love poking around at estate sales because you never know what treasures you might find for a song!
