WIP Wednesday – Quilting the Seeds of Friendship Bolster Cover

Just a quick post today while I take a break from quilting my Seeds of Friendship Bolster Cover.

FMQing on Seeds of Friendship Bolster Cover

I want to have this finished and on the bed in the guest bedroom before our oldest daughter and future son-in-law get here.  The original plan had them arriving here Thursday but their flight out of Shanghai was delayed a few hours and they missed their connection out of Beijing.  The airline got them on the next soonest flight but it put them a day behind schedule so we’re not sure if they’ll be here tomorrow or not until Friday now.

I’m so excited!  We haven’t seen each other in almost a year.

Our oldest has allergies so I spent this morning, giving the guest bedroom an extra thorough dusting and vacuuming.  All the bed linens are fresh and the blankets and quilt have even been washed and dried.  Dresser scarves replaced with clean ones, etc.

The guest towels have been set out on the dresser.

Towels for the guest bedroom

Once I know for sure when they are arriving, I’ll add a small vase of flowers and maybe some other goodies to make them feel welcome.

Our middle daughter is coming from Toronto on Friday as well.  This will be the first time in six years that we will have our family… Dave, me and our children all sleeping under the same roof.   I can’t wait!!

How excited you must be!! We had hoped to visit our youngest son and his wife this year but it’s not going to happen. Fingers crossed for next year, but oh how I miss them.

Oh, you will have so much fun!!

I have friends who live in Shanghai! I know it is a huge city, but how funny would it be if they knew each other?

I know you got it done in time! Or will, if it isn’t quite there. It’s beautiful, and what a lovely way to celebrate everyone home at once. Have a terrific time as a family!

How exciting, enjoy your time together. I have also just returned to New Zealand for a short break and had a nice week with my daughter, as it is hard at times when we live far from family.

That is so exciting, Elizabeth. You will have such a wonderful time together. Aren’t grown up kids the best? I hope they get in tomorrow instead of Friday.

Have a great time together! We had everyone together last Christmas and again last month at one son’s wedding. My father in law (age almost 90) got the biggest kick out of it – seeing how the family keeps getting bigger with each marriage and some new babies! Now I won’t have them all together for a while. Oh well, my sweet husband will do!

Oh I feel your excitement! Our family can only get together once a year or so because eldest daughter lives in Edmonton and the rest are within a few hours drive of Mom & dad. It is so special to have them all home – and the best part is they are ALL home when they come. Our house is full to bursting and they want to be together.
