My day of the hop is coming up on Friday but today I wanted to share with you some tips that will help to make all those recipes you’ll be wanting to try turn out perfectly.

5 Tips for Perfect Cookies Every Time

Tip#1:

Have any butter and eggs called for in the recipe at room temperature.

Tip #2:

When a recipe calls for eggs use large eggs.

Now if you only have medium eggs and are making a single batch, substituting one or two medium eggs for large eggs isn’t going to make much difference but if you’re scaling up your recipe by doubling or tripling, you could notice a difference in the moistness of the dough as well as how well it rises.

Tip #3:

When measuring dry ingredients such as flour… spoon (or use a flour scoop (<-affiliate link)) to add the flour to a dry measuring cup, then level off with the flat side of a knife.

Tip # 3 Measure accuratelyUsing the measuring cup to scoop the flour can compact the flour leading to too much flour which in turn leads to a dry, crumbly cookie.

Tip #4:

Measure flour, spices, salt, baking powder and baking soda into a separate bowl and then use a whisk to mix them thoroughly.

Tip #4: Mix dry ingredients in a separate bowlTip #5:

Lining your baking sheets with parchment paper (<-affiliate link) puts a layer of insulation between the dough and the sheet. Cookies will spread less and brown more evenly.

Tip #5: Line the baking sheet with parchment paper

Parchment paper also makes clean up a breeze.

And the faster you clean up, the sooner you’ll be able to start sampling those delicious cookies.

Great tips! I never thought about the flour one, so that’s good to consider. Here’s another one. If you accidentally spill extra vanilla in the dough, no worries. It gives it a really great flavor! LOL
