Some Really Cute Finishes!

Some Really Cute Finishes!

It’s been a fun and busy week here with Dave home for a short break. As an added bonus… I haven’t had to shovel snow once. And considering that we’ve had 13 1/2″ of snow in the past 36 hours, that’s a really good thing!

How Quilters Measure Snow

13 and a half inches of snowWhile my guys have been trying to keep ahead of the snow, I’ve had time to get some really cute finishes.

First up, I made this blue version of Archimedes Pincushion.

Blue Version of Archimedes Pincushion

Isn’t she simply adorable!! I’ve decided to call her Athena.

Here’s a side and back view:

And then there were these three teeny, tiny chef hats:

I’m sure all you regular readers know what that means. 🙂

And finally, this is actually a finish from back in December but I’ve waited until now to show you.

This is the reverse side of one of the Christmas tissue box covers that I made using my Reversible Tissue Box Cover Tutorial.

Spring Tissue Box Cover

That fabric with the little frilly hearts and squares, the strawberries and cherries, the bunnies and Red Riding Hood takes us right through Valentine’s Day on into spring and summer.

We rarely get snow in Central Louisiana, so even 1/2 inch shuts us down! Really, no school, stay off the roads, seriously shut down. Of course, we can’t drive in those conditions! lol
Love those little chefs hats. I bet there are a few dolls who would love them. Have you tried stuffing them and adding a bottom to make fun pincushions? Archimedes has so many details. Love him!

Thanks for the link! I love your Archimedes pincushions. Each time you show one, I come closer to making it – or trying to. I’m not that great at things like that. I measure my snow that way, too, only I use the 1 by 6 ruler! Except one time last winter, it was too short. LOL I think I know three someones who will be helping in the kitchen!

Wow….that is a chairload of snow!!!! Love the little chef’s hate. Could some turtles be planning on a bit of work in the kitchen?

Okay, that owl is the cutest thing I’ve seen in a while! I don’t know what the mini chef hats are for, but those are pretty adorable too! Love the tissue box cover, that is something I need to add to my to-do list!
