How to Unpick a Line of Quilting Without Breaking Threads

When I was quilting my Sampler Table Runner I had to unpick some of the quilting because in a section where I was stitching in the ditch, I missed the ditch.

Actually, there were a few times when I had to unpick so during one of those times Dave and I made a short video to show you the simple trick I’ve learned to help unpick or un-sew those areas without breaking the thread so that you can get back to a section where you can start quilting again.

Reverse sewing is not on anyone’s list of favorite things to do but I hope this video will make it easier the next time you’re faced with a line of quilting that just has to come out.

This technique also works when you’ve run out of bobbin thread or for some reason either the top or bottom thread has broken.

I would be so pleased if you chose to share by clicking on one of the buttons below!

Congratulations to Toni! And thank you for the link to read about her books. I’ll definitely be looking at the bookstore too.

Thanks for that information. It looks like it went smoothly. And not having all those little threads to pull out will save some time too.
