33 years ago today, Dave and I were married in a Friday evening ceremony in the chapel on Camp Wainwright (now known as Canadian Forces Base Wainwright.)
Happy Anniversary Dave!
I can remember thinking as I walked down the aisle after exchanging vows that I was the luckiest girl in the world.
And now 33 years later… I know just how right I was. But more than that, I know how fortunate and blessed we have been that over the years our love has grown deeper. Our relationship as man and wife has grown stronger.
Even knowing all that I know of the many trials we’d go through… the separations when you were away on exercise and on peace-making missions, the long nights alone, the days when I ached for your return. The joyous homecomings and the days of getting reacquainted and learning to love all over again a man who came back altered by his experiences. And of course, the every day joys and trials of parenting our children together… those things and so much more.
Yes… even knowing all that, I’d do it again in a heartbeat!
Thank you dear readers for indulging me as I shared this open love letter to the man who chose me to be the one to walk beside him in this lifetime!
