Lexie the Hexie Turtle Now Has a BFF

Today I took the second of the hexie flowers I made from the kits I bought last summer and made Lexie a BFF.

Lexie the Hexie Turtle's New BFF

For this one, I changed the curve of the neck slightly so that the head would stay upright without having to sew the back of the turtle’s neck to the shell like I ended up having to do with Lexie so that her head wasn’t laying flat.

That did change the look of the turtle a bit and I can’t decide if this second one is as cute as the first.

But then, in a very short time yesterday, I got attached to little Lexie.  She might actually have slept on my nightstand last night.  And I’ve started writing a children’s story featuring her as the main character so I’m not able to be terribly objective right now.  (Perhaps that’s something you might not know about me… I started my journey as a writer many years ago writing stories and articles for children.)

Maybe in a few days time, I’ll be able to decide if this second version needs more tweaking.

Here’s Lexie and her BFF heading out to lunch on some nice green grass:

They are both very lovely and they should go on adventures together — like Thelma and Louise — minus the Grand Canyon ending. 🙂
