A Hexie Turtle Christmas Eve – A Visit from Holly

A Hexie Turtle Christmas Eve – A Visit from Holly

Hello Everyone!  Happy Christmas Eve!

A Hexie Turtle Christmas Eve - Hexie Turtle Introduce themselves

We’re the Hexie Turtles!

I’m Lexie. Sue made me first, so that makes me the oldest.

Lanie’s the next oldest. She’s my BFF!

Rexie is the youngest. He’s my other BFF.

Since I’m the oldest, I get to be the one to tell you about all our adventures.

We’ve been having some really fun adventures this week!

Last Saturday, Dave and Sue finished decorating the house and went to pick out the Christmas tree. And then on Sunday, their grown up kids came to help decorate it.

We ate chocolates and listened to Christmas carols.

Dave kept saying we had enough decorations and Sue kept saying, “There’s room for one more.”

But that’s not the only adventure we had this week. We had a visit from someone very special.

No… not Santa. He doesn’t come until after we’re in bed tonight.

But it was someone almost as special.

Lanie, Rexie and I were pretending to be Santa’s reindeer.

A Hexie Turtle Chrismas Eve - Lexie pretending to be RudolphIt was my turn to play Rudolph, when all of the sudden we heard a knock on the backdoor.

Sue went to answer it but at first she didn’t see anyone.

Then she heard a voice from down on the doormat.

“Hello,” she said. “My name is Holly. I work for Santa at the North Pole.”

“Come in Holly,” Sue said and lifted her up and placed her on the dining room table. “How can we help you?”

“I’m on a very important mission for Santa,” Holly replied. “You see, I’m in charge of making sure that we have the correct addresses of all the children and turtles in the entire world entered correctly into Santa’s database for his trip on Christmas Eve. We received three letters from this address from Lexie, Lanie and Rexie.

Now of course, we knew you and the Hexie Turtles had moved. Santa knows everything. But we always like to make sure that the database is up-to-date before the Big Day.”

Sue brought Lanie, Rexie and me over to the table so we could talk to Holly too.

A Hexie Turtle Christmas Eve - Holly makes sure to that Santa's database is up to date.

Holly has a really cool tablet with all the names and addresses of every one Santa delivers to.

It was soooo exciting to see our names on the screen!

A Hexie Turtle Christmas Eve - The address on file is correct.

“That looks perfect, just like I expected,” Holly said. “We’re good to go for the 24th. But there is one thing more I need to do before I leave.”

“What’s that Holly?” we asked.

“Well… I see that you three are wearing the super cool Santa hats that Sue made you last year, but there seems to be something missing.”

Holly asked to borrow a some red thread and a needle. And then she sewed a jingle bell on each of our hats.

While she was sewing, we asked her a whole bunch of questions about Santa and Mrs. Claus and the elves and the reindeer and…

“Oh my… you turtles are so full of questions. I wish I had time to answer them all, but I must get going and finish my mission from Santa.

A Hexie Turtle Christmas Eve - Holly says goodbyeWe said goodbye and she was on her way.

Holly’s visit made us even more excited for Christmas Eve. And now it’s here.

We’ve had our bath and put on our nightcaps.

Our stockings have been hung on the pretend fireplace Dave made for us.

There weren’t any copies of Franklin’s Christmas Gift left at the library so we watched it on TV instead.

And now, we’re snuggled up in our quilts and we’re trying to go to sleep so Santa can come!

Merry Christmas Everyone from Sue and Dave and us… Hexie Turtles!

Love your latest installment in the adventures. Holly is TOO cute. Hopefully, she’ll find a reason to come back again. Unless she’s moving to a permanent home elsewhere!

So happy to hear Holly found Lexie, Lanie and Rexie at your new address and also took time to sew a sweet bell to each of their red hats. I hope Santa is really good to all three of them, as well as Super Mom and their extended family.

    Merry Christmas.
