Quilting Mod Challenge Accepted!

Quilting Mod Challenge Accepted!

Back at the end of July, Afton over at Quilting Mod issued a fun challenge.

She would send a select few who commented on her post 12 fat eighths of Art Gallery Fabrics Round Elements. In return, those accepting the challenge were to create a finished work including at least some of the fabric and link up from Oct. 1-7. The catch was that she only had a limited amount of fabric available to send.

I was thrilled when I received an email saying I was in!

The Art Gallery fabric arrived at the beginning of August.

Afton generously included some extras… a cute little Quilting Mod pin, a packet of Soak, a pattern card and what I thought, at first, was a nail file. The description says that the picture side can indeed be used as nail file but the black side is designed to remove lint, pet hair and dust from delicate fabric while the picture side removes pilling, matting and fuzz balls without hooking threads or damaging materials. What a useful little tool!

Thank you Afton!!

Now you have to know that I couldn’t wait to start cutting into that fabric because I already plans for at least one of them (see below.)

However, the very next day Dave and I packed up my sewing room/office, covered everything plastic and started painting. We thought we’d have it put back together in a couple of days.

I can hear you all laughing out there… yes I can!

Why do renovations of any kind always take twice to three times longer than a person thinks they will?

The plastic finally came off this week and the sewing machines, cutting table, fabric dresser and my desk were moved back into place. The boxes will have to wait to be unpacked until the paint on the new bookshelves Dave built for me has had time to cure.

But I can finally start sewing again!

Here’s a peek at Project 1:

Sneak Peek of Project 1 for Quilting Mod Challenge using Round Elements fabric

There will be more projects and maybe even some sneak peeks over the next few weeks leading up to the Quilting Mod’s Challenge #1 Link Party, the first week of October.

Oh and one thing I wanted to mention… you can still take part in this challenge by providing your own Art Gallery Round Elements fabrics. All the details can be found here and here!

There are even going to be prizes!!

So if you happen to have some Round Elements fabric in your stash, why not create a project and be ready to link up in October.

Or… you can use this as an excuse to order some! 🙂

I would be so pleased if you chose to share by clicking on one of the buttons below!

No, I didn’t laugh….I promise I didn’t. Only because I’ve been there and happen to own that particular t-shirt. Lucky win on that fabric – it’s going to be fun to see what you create.

Those are really super fabrics. I’m so glad you got the chance to be one of the people who received them for the challenge.

Great fabrics. Do I see a seal emerging?
