Santa Sack Swap – My Gifts to Terry

As I mentioned in my post yesterday each participant in the Santa Sack Swap, hosted by Cheryll over at Gone Stitch’, was allowed to choose whether their swap partner made them a sack, a stocking or a tote.  In our e-mails back and forth, my swap partner Terry mentioned that she would like a tote this year.  And since she had received a Christmas themed tote last year, she requested that I make something non-Christmasy.   As well from our e-mails, I learned that like me, she likes bright colors.

After searching through pinterest for totes ideas and quilt shops for fabrics, this is the tote I designed for Terry:

Remember back when I posted about making the Mini Spool Quilts.  I kept the less than perfect one but I couldn’t show you the almost perfect one at the time because it was intended for Terry.

Terry is a quilter and when I found this novelty print in colors to match the tote bag, I knew that I just had to make her a zippered pouch.

It too had to have pockets added to the inside:

Of course, I had to add some sewing accessories to go inside those pockets:

And what sewing kit would be complete without a needle book, so I made her this Little Letter Needle book.

Every quilter needs their very own Thimble Pip.

For each side of the thimble pip, I fussy cut flowers from the same fabric that I used for her tote bag.

It looks huge in this photo but it’s only 1.5″ tall.

After all those practical sewing/quilting gifts, a girl needs something pretty just for herself, so I made Terry this flex frame clutch purse with beaded handle.

I forgot to take individual photos of the crocheted Prosperity Angel, Hospitality Angel and Celtic Cross that I made for her but you can see them in the photo below that I took of all her gifts before I wrapped them.

I hope that Terry has as much fun using each of her gifts as I did making them!
