Small Finishes for Friday

Small Finishes for Friday

Today I only have some small finishes to share with you.  I had hoped to have completed my writing tote yesterday but it’s still a work in progress.

I did however finish this pretty Prairie Point Star Ornament.

Prairie Point Star OrnamentI had some fun in the photo editor adding frost and ice to the photo.  If you look closely you can see my reflection in the gold button I sewed to the center.

The ornament is made from leftover charm squares of Season’s Greetings by Sentimental Studios for Moda.  (Tutorial coming soon.)

I also finished knitting the blue dishcloth pictured below.

2 Knitted Dishclothes

We are in need of new dishcloths so they have become my take along project.  I knit a few rows whenever I have to sit and wait somewhere.  The green one was finished earlier this summer.

The blue one only had six rows left to knit so I decided to get that done early one morning this week.  Dave has some dental appointments coming up so I’ll have a chance to make a few more of these.

Three new thimble pips have also been added to my collection.

Three New Thimble PipsThese have actually been finished for a while now but I kept forgetting to get a photo of them.

Right now they are sitting on the shelf with the rest of the thimble pips but they are destined to become gifts over the coming months.

I am looking forward to the tutorial for that beautiful ornament. I love the thimble pips, but I don’t use thimbles because of my wide fingers and longish nails. I have yet to find a comfortable thimble. When I quilt I use a leather thimble. I tend to go through them very quickly. I really think the pips are pretty though.

Love the new pips – so fresh looking. That ornament is gorgeous! I look forward to the tutorial, as I have a lot of left over Christmas fabrics from a quilt I did last year.

Never mind! Sorry! I missed the first part about the ornament – I was out of town and I still needed to catch up on my email! I can’t wait to make one!

It’s great to finish a project isn’t it. I don’t do that often enough I’m afraid and have ended up with too many UFO’s. Looking forward to your tutorial on making the ornie – it’s such a pretty one!

The prairie point ornament is awesome! and love your other finishes too. Sometimes I think those small finishes give us a boost to hold us til the big projects become finishes!

    Even little finishes are fun.
BTW – I printed off the thimble pip tutorial and gave it to a lady I quilt with. She was quite excited. It is “right up her alley”!
