Vintage Embroidery Monday – Hearts and Other Cute Little Patterns

When I saw these heart patterns, I immediately thought of embroidering them to turn into sachets.

They’d also make really pretty pincushions to include in a sewing kit as a wedding gift.

Embroidered Heart Sachets

After embroidering, I cut them to size and sewed them together with a backing fabric the same size.   To make the pretty edging, I did a blanket stitch evenly spaced along each of the four sides with three blanket stitches in each corner.   And then using the same embroidery floss, I crocheted into each blanket stitch with slip stitch, ch 1 all the way around.

The hearts along with the other small motifs shown below came from Workbasket Sheet #84.

Oh, so cute! Thanks for telling how you did the edges. I don’t think I had downloaded the patterns on this page, either!
