Christmas Dove Card and Coloring Page

Christmas Dove Card and Coloring Page

The dove is one of those enduring symbols of peace, hope and love. At no time of the year do we wish that more for ourselves and others than at Christmas.

I’ve drawn a Christmas Dove carrying a ribbon with the words: peace, hope, love and joy.

It is my wish that you experience all four, now and throughout the coming year.

The design has been made into both a Christmas Dove Card and Coloring Page for you to print off (scroll down for more photos and the download link.)

I also have plans to turn this design into an embroidery sampler for our Handmade Homemade Holidays membership. They’ll be receiving it in the spring of 2020.

Have you heard about our membership?

After signing up, new members are provided with a starter Christmas Planner to help them set up a savings and spending plan. Additional planner worksheets are provided each month to help them to get everything organized for a debt free, stress free Christmas.

And what would a handmade homemade membership be without things to make.

So each month, I also provide members with patterns and projects to work on throughout the year so that when Christmas comes around, they’re not left scrambling to get things done and can really enjoy the holiday season.

We’re closed for enrollment at the moment, but I’m thinking about having a 48 hour flash sale soon for those who are on the waitlist. So if you think this is something you might be interesting in doing, head on over to Handmade Homemade Holidays, scroll down and get your name on that waitlist!

For the past several months, I’ve been rediscovering my love of drawing and attempting to improve my skills with each new project I work on.

I used to draw quite often as a teen but after leaving home, getting married and having children, that got set aside for more pressing duties.

Coloring just for the pure joy of it is something else that got set aside. So it was fun to design this coloring page and card for you.

Because it’s been so long, my coloring skills are a bit rusty!

I bought a large pack of Crayola Colored Pencils for this project.

I don’t remember having as much trouble choosing colors when I was a teen. Maybe it was because I had fewer colors to choose from back then. 🙂

So I started with the easy choices.

The Christmas Dove coloring page with the branch and leaves colored green.

The color page is still a work in progress. This is as far as I’ve gotten with it.

Christmas Dove coloring page with branch, some breast feathers and ribbon colored.

But I was able to finish coloring the dove on the card.

Though I have to admit that I like the card left plain as well.

Here they are side by side. I really do like them both!

These were printed on white card stock.

Great idea, Sue! Love the dove! I can so relate to your story! With four kids, I would pull out my art supplies and in frustration, put them away with little done. The kid’s needs took precedence. Finally, after getting old, I’m able to use some of those creative skills! Pinned.

What a cute coloring page. It made me think of the 4 turtle doves in the 12 days of Christmas.

Your dove is beautiful! I think you chose the right colors 🙂 But you’re right, it looks pretty even without coloring.

Aw, I love that you provide a coloring page too! Perfect to wind down with a coffee and play with the kid’s old colored pencils (I’m an empty nester and have a bin filled with their old school supplies). Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!
