The Hexie Turtles’ White Christmas

The Hexie Turtles’ White Christmas

Hello! I’m so glad you’re here. I’ve got a fun Christmas story to tell you!

I’m Lexie. That’s me in the middle. Lanie, my BFF is on the left. Rexie, my other BFF is on the right.

We’re the Hexie Turtles. I’m the oldest, because Sue made me first. Then Lanie is a few days younger. Rexie came along a few days after that.

We’ve been helping Sue and Dave get ready for Christmas. Our favorite part was setting up the Christmas village with the mini turtle house and snow hill that their oldest daughter made for her.

Do you know why it’s our favorite? I mean besides that it has little tiny turtles like us. It’s our favorite because we’ve been having some snow adventures of our own.

It all started when Sue was helping us write our letters to Santa.

A letter to Santa being written with the three Hexie Turtles looking on.

Here they are all ready to take to the mail box.

Three small envelopes addressed to Santa at the North Pole

We had to get all dressed up in our toques, mittens and scarves because it had snowed.

Rexie yelled, “Last one to the mail box has to eat yellow snow!”

We each raced as fast as turtles can race.

Rexie got there first and put his letter in.

Lanie was second and got her letter in too.

I was last to get my letter in the mail box.

But there’s no way, I was going to eat yellow snow no matter what Rexie said!!

It was hard getting the mail box door closed and the flag put up, but we did it!

Just then, Dave came around the house and said he had a surprise for us and suggested that we all take a ride on the sled that Santa brought us for Christmas last year.

Rexie said that because he won the race and I wouldn’t eat yellow snow, I had to ride at the back of the sled.

I decided that was a fair trade!

Dave’s surprise was that he’d built us a snow hill in the front yard!

Here we are at the top, ready to go.

Wheeee! It’s fun sledding down hill!!

After that, we had another surprise.

We got to go get our very own tree to decorate.

By the time we were back inside, we were covered in snow and ready for some hot chocolate.

After we were all warmed up, it was time to decorate our tree.

First, we put on the lights.

Then it was time to add the garland.

Just as we were finished decorating we heard the sound of bells so we rushed to the window.

And what did we see?

It was Holly! She’d come all the way from the North Pole to pick up our letters to Santa.

She was so fast that she had our letters in her mail sack, closed the mail box door, put the flag back down and flew away again before we could even get dressed to go outside to talk to her.

And now today is Christmas Eve.

We’ve hung our stockings on the fireplace.

Sue helped us bath and put on our nightcaps.

Dave read us our favorite story books.

And now we’re all tucked up in our quilts under the big Christmas tree.

Sue says that Santa won’t come until we’re asleep.

So goodnight!

Hello everyone, it’s Sue and Dave here.

After a few lullabies and listening to their favorite Christmas music, it didn’t take Lexie, Lanie and Rexie long to fall asleep.

They were still sound asleep when Santa came to put their gifts under the tree and fill their stockings.

From all of us to all of you, may you have a very Merry Christmas!
